A Dog-Centric Social Club with a Firm Focus on Training and Behaviour
DOTACADEMY is a social club for both dogs and their owners alike that focuses on the training and handling of your dog. Socialisation is a key foundation to helping a dog develop a good temperament, with obedience offering the opportunity for our dogs to learn it's place in the family, what behaviours are and are not acceptable. Before long you will have a dog that has good manners, is lovely to be around and knows how to act everywhere it goes.

However Large or Small. They're Never Too Old to Learn - Neither are you!
The Academy
Our core range of classes define 'The Academy' and are designed so that you and your dog can easily graduate from one class to the next - from Puppy Classes to Basic Obedience - Intermediate and Advanced Classes. This ensures that your dogs' training and socialisation follows a natural progression and is as complete as it can be so that you can build on these skills for whatever comes next, be it just taking your dog with you wherever you go, competition obedience or dogs sports!
Social Events
One of the most important aspects of training is ensuring that your dog is comfortable being around other dogs, people and a range of environments. Our social events will help to make this happen with walks, picnics, outings and a variety of other activities that we haven't even thought of yet. We encourage our members to suggest things of interest to them to keep things fresh, to ensure utmost enjoyment and to develop our Academy into something everybody - and every dog - can enjoy.
Specials
Sometimes there is a need to concentrate on a certain training technique, behaviour correction methodology or to just get together on the request of a member to teach your pooch some tricks and have some fun! (Not that we don't anyway, of course!) Pop-up classes satisfies these requirements completely and can be held indoors or out, depending on what is needed.
Behaviour
Although we don't specialise in significant behaviour correction such as severe aggression issues, we can and do help owners address and correct the majority of adverse behaviours. We can suggest a variety of methods and techniques to help your dog make better decisions and get them to be accountable for their actions in the quickest, kindest and most efficient way that we can.
Spot Meets
It's good to get together with others more regularly than the official club meets, so if you and a few other club members have an hour or two to spare, you may like to meet up for a coffee, chat, stroll by the river or an afternoon in the beer garden watching the world go by - either on your own or with your furry friend. Either way, we are sure you'll have loads to talk about and tips to exchange.
Us
When we look at our dogs behaviour and consider it to be an issue, we often fail to look towards ourselves to see if the behaviour that we exhibit, could be encouraging or creating the behaviour that we find so frustrating in our dogs. Our training methods firmly take into consideration Human-Dog interaction, Human psychology and the behaviour of not only our dogs, but us too!
