CLASS INFORMATION

  • Each class will typically last 50-60 minutes.
  • You will be required to be responsible for your dog and clear-up in the case of any ‘accidents’.
  • It is of utmost importance that you are prepared to have some fun and enjoy the process of training!
  • Refunds will not be given. Please see our Terms prior to booking.

PREREQUISITES

  • Anybody can join in our Level 1 Obedience Classes, as long as their dog is 1 year or older.
  • Class levels are progressive and are to be taken in order – Level 1 -> Level 2 -> Level 3.
  • Only non-aggressive dogs of the correct age are permitted for enrollment into the class.
  • Reactive dogs will be accepted into the class, but only if the reactivity is manageable to an acceptable degree. These classes can help lightly-reactive and anxious dogs, as well as those that are low in confidence.

EQUIPMENT

  • A minimum of a suitable flat collar and traditional training lead of 6-feet in length (2 metres) will be required for the class.
  • Slip leashes/collars and check collars such as Martingale’s (half-check) and Check Chains are permitted as long as they are used correctly – if you are unsure about the use of any type of collar, please just opt for a flat collar and consider enrolling on one of our Leash Handling Pick-n-Mix Classes.
  • Extendi-leads will not be used for this class.
  • Halter-style ‘head harnesses’ can initially be used for this class if used for reactivity. It would be preferred to switch to a slip-leash or Martingale collar at the earliest convenience.
  • Harnesses will not be used for any of our class trainings, but can be worn by the dog, if desired.
  • Prong collars will not be permitted to be used for this class.
  • Appropriate food or treats of your choosing are required for training and can be placed in your pocket or an external bait bag.
