RECALL OBEDIENCE

ROCK-SOLID RECALL

If running around chasing your dog because it refuses to come back when called is becoming a bind, confining your dog to the rest of its life on a leash, then our recall class maybe exactly what you’ve been looking for!

Having a reliable recall is an essential life-saving skill that all dogs should know, that can keep them out of harms way and running swiftly back to you the moment you need them to.

Give your dog the off-leash freedom they long for with a Rock-Solid Recall.

About ROCK-SOLID RECALL

This multi-session class spread out over a few weeks is a focused workshop that educates both the owner and the dog on basic recall obedience. Changing habits that have been ingrained isn’t done overnight. Ingrained behaviour needs to be forgotten and replaced with a new behaviour that is as rewarding for your dog as it is for you and is reliable in real-world situations.

Counter-Conditioning

If your dog isn’t listening to you when you call them, they have probably been conditioned into thinking they can do their own thing. Reversing this behaviour is referred to as ‘Counter-Conditioning’ and teaches your dog a new set of rules and boundaries to behave within.

On and Off-Leash Training

Our recall training starts off on-leash and progressively transfers over to off-leash sessions. All sessions are held within a secure enclosure, so no risk of your dog running away!

Engagement

Many of our trainings include some form of ‘Engagement Training’, teaching your dog to focus firmly on you. Without this everything else is more important to them – environment, dogs, people, sniffing and peeing. Developing focus on us is paramount, especially with recall training.

Learning to Play

Introducing the dog to off-leash play, encourages both owner and dog to interact, prompting the dog to stay with the owner to play rather than having to occupy itself when off-leash. Play is an exciting and powerful tool for recall.

PLEASE NOTE: A class environment is a place to learn and develop skills for you to take away and work on with your dog. Therefore it is important that you are aware that you will be expected to work with your dog regularly between class meetings, as this is where results will be seen.
