In Partnership with ManHealth

Being strong advocates of Mental Health and coupled with the known benefits of animals on Mental Health, DOT Academy has teamed up with Manhealth – a prominent men’s mental health charity located in and around the area.

We will be holding dog-focused Walk and Talks for those who those who wish to join in with or without a dog, to discuss absolutely anything with a focus on helping to improve people’s mental health by offering a friendly ear and advice from their own personal experiences.

There is generally always somebody available from ManHealth on our walks and it may be a good introduction to their weekly and bi-weekly groups, without the added pressure of walking into a room full of guys. Although they are very welcoming and as well as that friendly ear, they also offer a nice hot cuppa and a biscuit or two.

Although ManHealth is 100% focused on men’s mental health, DOT Academy isn’t and is open to anybody who fancies a chat. We regret that children are not permitted on these walks.

Don’t Have a Dog?

If you want to bring a dog but don’t own one, then please feel free to just come along anyway and if you don’t have a dog or know anybody who can lend you one for a couple of hours and would like to bring one with you, then why not head over and take a look at Borrow My Doggy – a website dedicated to helping out both you and dog owners, by taking their dog out for a walk and getting them out of a bit of a pickle. It’s a win-win and we like things like that!

Take the Next Step

We plan to do the Walk and Talks around once a month, will be free and you will be able to find more information here on our website, on the community menu link. You are very welcome to join us!

You can also find out more about the charity and the outstanding work they do on the ManHealth website at manhealth.org.uk.
