Community Wednesday Social

Walkies Are Go!

Join in on Wednesday Walks and get both you and your dog socialised. These walk meetups are free, are run from a variety of locations in the area and at different times. Everybody has a chance to join in, so why not come along for a chat about dogs, training and anything else you fancy? It’s simple – Just turn up and join the walk!

About Our Wednesday Walks

Wednesday’s can be a funny day of the week. Often referred to as “Hump Day”, it’s neither here or there. It’s in the middle of the working week and some people find it an uphill struggle to get there and look forward to the downward slope that leads directly to the weekend. Now that the weather is changing and we say goodbye to the warmer summer weather, the darker mornings and evenings can leave us wondering what we can do to make our days a little more cheerful.

Here’s the answer – Wednesday Walkies!

Keeping Wednesday's Fun!

However you view Wednesday’s, we are starting off the Autumn season providing community dog walks so that both people and dogs can get together for an hour or so, chat, walk and raise their energy levels for the day. Many dog owners in the area comment about their concerns with their dog not having a social circle that they can be with on a regular basis. It is important for a dog to have friends and meet other people often and we think that every dog should have the opportunity to socialise and with other like-minded dogs and owners, for their own well-being and that of their owners!

Various Places, Various Times

Different people have different lives and schedules. Some people work 9-5, some engage in shift work and others don’t work at all! We aim to cater to the majority of these situations by providing differing times and places to make walks easily accessible and also so that your canine companion has the opportunity to meet different friends.

We aim to offer a Wednesday walk in the morning, afternoon or evening depending on interest. We don’t care whether it’s sunny, raining, windy or snowing, the walk will be on regardless.

Having a variety of places to walk also gets your dog used to different environments too. Some days we may keep it to a field or countryside walk, while another day we may switch it up and embark on a walk in town, or to a village pub!

Let's Build a Happy Welcoming Community!

Friendly Dogs Welcome

Wednesday Walkies are provided for free for the community. We encourage friendly owners and dogs to join us. Reactive dogs are also welcome if they have never been in a fight and are just a bit noisey, as this type of activity can assist in this behaviour.

We do request that aggressive dogs and non-confident owners of reactive dogs do not to attend these events, due to the nature of these confidence-building walks.  Instead, it would be better to start with our reactive dogs workshop later in the coming months.

So with all that in mind, reach out to your friends and bring them along with you and let’s build a community!
