Rock-Solid Recall teaches you how to achieve a reliable recall and helps teach your dog the skills it needs to lead a life off-leash. Imagine never having to run after your dog again and instead have the confidence in knowing that they will reliably come to you each time they are called.

This training consists of 6 training sessions held across a 12-week period and gives the information and practice that can achieve a solid recall in an environment with light to medium distraction.

CLASS INFORMATION

  • This workshop consists of 6 separate sessions.
  • Each session will typically last around 90-minutes, including a break.
  • Session 1 is a split session, with an initial 30-minute talk followed by a 1-hour training.
  • This is mainly an off-leash class, where dogs will take it in turns off-leash to train.
  • You will be required to be responsible for your dog and clear-up in the case of any ‘accidents’.
  • Refunds will not be given. Please see our Terms prior to booking.

PREREQUISITS

  • Anybody can join in this class, as long as their dog is 6 months or older.
  • Only non-aggressive dogs of the correct age are permitted for enrollment into the class.
  • Lightly reactive dogs will be accepted into the class if they can be managed. These classes can help reactivity and confidence in some dogs.

EQUIPMENT

  • The use of Extendi-Leads are encouraged for this class (the only class in which they are used!).
  • A long-line (or extendi-lead) is recommended for this class.
  • Use of a basic flat collar to attach a leash to is all that is required for this class. Other types of collar will not be permitted to be worn for this class.
  • A whistle may be useful for this class, if desired. Acme whistles are recommended.
  • Halter-style ‘head harnesses’ will not be used for this class.
  • Harnesses will not be used for any of our class trainings, but can be worn by the dog, if desired.
  • Appropriate very high-value food or treats are recommended for training and can be placed in your pocket or an external bait bag.
